San Antonio Spurs Make Roster Move Before Trail Blazers Game
The San Antonio Spurs made a roster move before Friday's game.
On Friday evening, the San Antonio Spurs will host the Portland Trail Blazers in Texas.
Before the game, the team announced that they had made a roster move.
Via The Austin Spurs: "The San Antonio Spurs today announced that Sidy Cissoko has been assigned to the Austin Spurs."
Cissoko was the 44th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and has played in five games for the Spurs.
The 19-year-old is currently averaging 1.2 points and 1.2 rebounds per contest.
He last appeared in a game for the Spurs on December 31.
He's spent a lot of time in the G League and had averages of 10.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks per contest while shooting 46.6% from the field and 28.9% from the three-point range in 11 Showcase Cup games (he has also appeared in two regular season games).
As for the Spurs, they are the 15th seed in the Western Conference with an 8-36 record in their first 44 games.
They are in the middle of a two-game losing streak and have gone 3-7 over their last ten games.
Most recently, the Spurs lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder (at home) by a score of 140-114.
Following the Trail Blazers, they will host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday evening in Texas.
As for the Trail Blazers, they are one spot ahead of the Spurs (14th seed) and have a 13-31 record in their first 44 games.
They are 4-6 over their last ten games.
